Blog Nosh: The Mailbox

My flash fiction piece, "The Mailbox" (inspired by one of Tina’s contests) is featured today over at Blog Nosh! I had a great time writing this piece (my foray into speculative fiction).

A word about Blog Nosh: I’d been the fiction and poetry channel editor. It was great fun, though it was for only a short time. With the turn of events in our lives, I had to pull out of that particular job. I’m hoping at some point, once life is more settled, I can get back into it. I highly recommend the site for a collection of great posts. Have fun blog noshing!

September's Glimpses (and other zine related events)

Here we are, approaching the beginning of a new month.

(Some of us are still in mourning from the end of the Olympics.)

But we all know what the beginning of a new month means.

Glimpses!

This month, I have an interview with, story of, and art by Makoto Fujimura. I also have a blurb on worshipping creatively in your Church. You can sign up on the sidebar.

Also, ready for the big announcement?

(No, Mom, I’m not pregnant.)

I’m moving from a Religion/Philosophy channel editor at Blog Nosh to a Fiction/Poetry editor. So here’s what I’m looking for (in this order):

1. Posts with short fiction or poetry

2. Posts about the craft of creative writing

When you email me your blog posts for consideration, remember:

1. The posts need to have fallen off your first page.

2. Send me your blog URL, the post URL, and your RSS feed URL.

Email them to me!

Blog Nosh

More exciting than Wicked. More energy than Thoroughly Modern Millie. Scarier than a train wreck.

I’m one of the editors for the Religion section of Blog Nosh.

What is Blog Nosh? you may ask. I’m so glad you did. Blog Nosh is a magazine (more specifically an ezine) that collects quality posts from other blogs in various categories (including art and writing, folks). These blog posts have fallen off the front page of the blog but are so good, we can’t let them go.

It launched while I was in New Jersey, so I’ve been sadly silent. But already, there’s some great stuff there.

It saves time. Rather than reading every blog, you can let others do the hard work of finding the good posts from the good blogs.

All that to say two things:

One, I’m featured on it today. I know, I know. Bragging about myself. But someone’s got to do it. I’m looking forward to highlighting a lot of your posts, though, in the future.

Which brings me to point b (subtle reference to Home Alone), submit your stuff.  You can find publication and submission guidelines here. Remember, there are lots of fun categories. So have fun!
