Tapestry: To Infinity and Beyond

I’m up today at the Tapestry Blog talking about what it means to be human.

From the post:

"Flip through Scripture, and you’ll find that while God uses angels to
close mouths of lions (no comments from the peanut gallery), accompany
His chosen through fire, and announce good tidings of great joy, He
more often uses ordinary, even disgusting humans to do extraordinary,
beautiful things."

Tapestry: Beyond Relevance

I’m up today at Tapestry. My blog entry is Beyond Relevance.

"About a decade ago, the catchword became relevance. "But is the
ministry relevant?" we all asked. It was–and is–a good question.
After all, Jesus became man in order to be relevant. The man knew his
communication theory.

Though the term’s not as in fashion anymore, the way we act and
think betrays our commitment to relevance, especially in science and
art (I use the term here broadly). The problem is, when we stop here,
we get caught up in trends and fads. As Christians, we are relevant,
but we should be beyond relevant.

We should be transformational."

The post goes on to talk about the basis for this transformation as well as its reach into science, art, economics, technology, etc.

Tapestry: A Christian Women's Collective

It’s live! That’s right, after months of prayer, discussions, details (a lot of details–from whence come all the details?), it’s live–a group blog: Tapestry: A Christian Women’s Collective.

Tapestry is a conversation for all women in all ministries. It brings together leading writers, speakers, and thinkers to dialogue
theologically, biblically, and culturally with women in ministry about
the issues these individual women face and the broader issues of the
culture in which these women minister.
