The Creative Life

I've been thinking a lot lately about the idea of living creatively--how it's part of human nature but how it has to be cultivated and practiced. So how do you guys live creatively--how you do everyday things with your own flare or how you add something unique to your ordinary world?

I'm definitely with Tanya on the cooking thing. I also carry my camera with me almost every place I go. The more I take photographs, the more I realize that even without my camera I'm still looking through the lens in my mind's eye, capturing detail, exploring angles, appreciating beauty. . .
never enough.
I do have a great sense of humor -- actually a terribly odd sense of humor. I usually find a twist to everything that happens. It definitely changes the people with whom I come into contact. If just for the moment.
Most of my creativity comes in the form of food. I love food and I love mixing new things together. It drives my husband crazy that I never use recipes, but I'm just too impatient to be bound my measuring cups and such. I never thought I would enjoy cooking so much, but when my art time is limited, our meals become my canvas. And there is little in this world more enjoyable than devouring art.
Well, my way can be perceived as a flaw, as it comes with an absurd rejection of routine. Yet, doing something always the same way turns it into a monotone that slips past the consciousness without changing anything. And so, I'm too random. I know that life deserves rhythm and I haven't found that balance yet, but all the same, I find new things every time I sweep the floor (mostly because the kids drop new things every time. *grin*) Living life with creativity means I can drop anything when something of eternal value shows up, whether it be a chat with a friend in need of counsel, or a moment of direction for my children. Perhaps it means I try to keep God's glasses on my nose so I'm not so blind to what's going on around me. Eh, I'll start confusing even myself if I keep on with this. Thank you for the thought-provoking question.
Honestly, I was thinking the other day that one of the best things I do for my creativity is to create "nothing spaces." Sitting on the porch with a cup of tea, doing nothing at all... just letting my mind "zone". It feeds me. I usually accidentally come back in the house with a poem.
The other thing I do, but not in the summer (too HOT!) is go running at night. This usually sends me a COUPLE of poems and a whole lot of happiness and general inspiration.
